WFB Talk will be Calling on Teams to Help

27 Jan

If you listened to our show last Sunday as well as been following the blog about Girl’s Flag Football, when we had Nikki Johnson on our show, you would know that we plan on calling on teams to ask for at least a $25 donation to go towards the program that Nikki is helping to set up in her school district.

The NFL chose 10 young women to establish Girl’s Flag Football in the high schools in hopes one day, like Florida and Alaska, it will be a sanctioned sport.

Nikki Johnson presented the benefits to having flag football in the high schools on January 22.  On January 23 I heard it was voted on and approved to move forward, with the exception a “club” sport for the 2009 season.

Nancy and I are compiling a list as we speak to call on teams from both leagues to HELP.  As always, individuals are also encouraged to help support women’s football.
