Meg
Football player of 8 seasons. Currently working on my Masters in counseling to obtain my LPC. Current profession is a juvenile probation officer.
I love the sense of family you gain from a team. My hometown is california but I am residing at the moment in Houston, Texas. I love the outdoors and just hanging out with people that are in my inner circle.

Robin
“Hi everyone, thanks for visiting our blog. My name is Robin Grove, one of your co-hosts for Women’s Football Talk. I am the one who usually opens the show and “steers the ship” so to speak. Barb makes me do it because she says I am quick on my feet, but I have my suspicions as to what she does with those few extra seconds at the start of every show. If I am the voice, Barb is the brains of WFB Talk.
At the annual end of season banquet for the Sacramento Sirens I saw Barb, “Smack Down” creator Meg and marketing hound Nancy talking about the future of women’s football. What started as curiosity and an offer to help with research on my part has turned into much more. Originally scheduled as a half-hour show every other week, WFB Talk is now a weekly show (in-season) that can run up to two hours depending on topic and time of year.
When I am not on the field, recording a show or working at my “real” job with the State of California I enjoy some of the typical things like movies, music and spending time with friends. I also enjoy being creative and working with my hands. I am equally happy working on my 1970 Camaro or creating scrapbook pages. Halloween is my favorite holiday although nothing can beat Thanksgiving/Christmas for spending time with my extensive extended family. I also love camping, playing Rock Band and watching nerdy shows on PBS and NatGeo. My tastes are diverse in just about everything and I really enjoy debating with people who challenge my way of thinking. Kind, intelligent and considerate people are my favorite!
As I look toward the future I would love to do more traveling and ultimately use my degree from the University of the Pacific to work for the NFL Network as a producer or editor; my second dream job being wildlife/nature photographer. I would also like to do a documentary about the history of women’s football and cull information from across the nation to put together a thorough history of women in the sport. Of special interest to me would be finding women who played in the 70’s and even earlier if possible.
If you want to know more please send me an e-mail at contact@wfbtalk.com with the subject “WFB Talk.”"

Nancy
This is the fourth year I have been involved in women’s football. How come it took me over 30 years to know there were teams around the country? I first learned about this sport through Bj. Yeah, I played football with my brother and cousins, but who would of imagined there were woman in pads and helmets yelling “Hit Somebody”!
I had just met Bj and one day we were chatting on the phone and she said, “I am trying out for the Sacramento Sirens!” I told her, “good for you” and “wow, that’s exciting” without knowing what and who the Sirens were! I still can remember going to the internet to research the team after we hung up and I became amazed that there were teams and leagues established across the country!
Fast forward to a couple years later and now I am involved in more ways than one in the sport. I have been a volunteer from the crab feeds, water girl, chain gang, etc. I now help promote the sport even more by taking on the role as the marketing director for Women’s Football Talk.
The first game I attended was in the stands and the feeling I got from the crowds energy was exhilarating. As I led my way into volunteering I have had the chance to be on the field while the game is going on and I LOVE it! Now, while we are able to broadcast games it is a great feeling to be known by the fans, coaches, players, and some of the broadcasters at the game.
I have also met some awesome people through football too! Bj, Megan, Robin, Beebe, and the list goes on…
Football has also allowed me to travel up and down the West coast. If anyone knows me well, I must mix a football trip with a trip to some historical, or National Park grand adventure!
Besides football and travel, I play softball, can have a conversation in American Sign Language, collect stamps and coins, enjoy fishing, hiking, walking, and I recently started gardening. I also love Bird watching and will spend hours appreciating their beauty. I am an active learner always wanting to know more about the world.
I appreciate all of you for keeping up with our Blog and Sunday shows. Remember, to contact me if you want to be a guest on our show. ;)

Cassie
Hey everyone and thanks for being a part of the WFB Talk family of listeners. I am Cassie Newell A.K.A. “QB13”, and I serve as the Director of Public Relations. I currently live in Longview, Texas, and play quarterback for the Shreveport Aftershock. This is my rookie season and unfortunately I tore my ACL in our very first game of 2009. So, for the remainder of the season I am playing #1 fan, cheerleader, radio announcer, or whatever else needs to be done to support my team. I am greatly anticipating my return to football in the 2010 season.
I’m a Mississippi girl by birth, but have lived in Texas for 3 years. I have my Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Education and my Master’s Degree in Sports Administration. Both of those degrees are put to good use daily while teaching high school biology and coaching softball and volleyball.
I became involved in women’s football about a year ago and my only regret is not knowing about it sooner. I played rugby in college at Mississippi State, but the camaraderie and friendship in rugby pales in comparison to football.
In my free time, I enjoy camping, water sports, golf, trivia, cooking on the grill, playing Rock Band and Guitar Hero, and hanging out with my 2 kids- I mean cats- Ginger and Mostleigh.
